How long does a boiler replacement take?

Most single- and two-family swaps are one day. Multi-family and commercial jobs depend on piping and access; we schedule so you're not without heat overnight.

Yes, 24/7. No-heat calls are the ones we take at 3am in February.

Do you work on steam boilers?

Yes — steam systems are a big part of what we do in Brooklyn and Queens. Pre-war buildings throughout Ridgewood, Bushwick, Williamsburg, and the surrounding neighborhoods run one-pipe steam. We repair failing pressuretols, replace Hartford Loops, re-pitch mains, balance vents, and replace full steam boilers. Steam is different from hot water — it requires specific diagnosis and parts, and we carry both.

Can you install a mini-split in a building that already has steam heat?

Yes, and it's one of the most common requests we get in older Brooklyn and Queens buildings. Steam heat works well in winter but provides no cooling and no zone control. A ductless mini-split adds cooling and shoulder-season heating independently of the boiler — you can run the mini-split in spring and fall without firing the boiler at all. We handle the refrigerant line sets, condensate drain, and electrical rough-in.
