We serve all these areas too.
Slab drain repairs typically involve cutting through the concrete to access the pipe, making the repair, and patching. For full repipes on slab homes, we can reroute drain lines overhead through the ceiling of the lower level rather than cutting the slab — it's less invasive and often faster. We've done both approaches in Middle Village's postwar slab stock and will recommend based on the layout and the extent of the problem.
It depends on the boiler and distribution system condition. If the cast-iron boiler is still sound and the radiators and piping aren't leaking, maintaining steam is often the lower-cost path — modern steam controls can improve efficiency significantly without a full conversion. Converting to forced hot water requires replacing every radiator with baseboard or panel radiators and running new supply and return piping throughout, which is a significant investment. We can assess the existing system and give you an honest comparison.
